Case Management

Amid military aggression, thousands of Ukrainian families have found themselves in crisis. The loss of homes, financial hardship, and limited access to medical services are challenges that require immediate solutions. The case management program plays a crucial role in providing timely and personalized support, ensuring that families receive help exactly when they need it most. Its core principle is an individualized approach, allowing for an effective response to the specific needs of each family. Case management programs significantly improve the living conditions of children and families by addressing their physical, psychological, and social well-being. They help families reduce stress, create a stable environment, and provide opportunities for development. Through a detailed assessment of each family’s situation, the Fund can effectively respond to crises and direct families to the appropriate support programs:

  • Financial assistance for urgent needs: In cases of severe financial crisis, the Fund provides aid to cover essential expenses such as utility bills, loss of a guardian’s ability to work, funeral arrangements, or other critical costs that cannot be postponed.

  • Housing Recovery Program. The housing recovery program is a vital component of emergency response to the consequences of warfare. When a family loses their home due to the war, we provide immediate assistance — both financial and humanitarian (including food packages, hygiene products, clothing, and footwear, if needed) to help meet their basic needs during this difficult time.

Additionally, the Fund considers covering the cost of temporary housing for families unable to quickly restore their homes. This includes rent assistance for apartments or dormitories, ensuring that families have a safe place to live while they work toward rebuilding their homes.

  • Evacuation and Relocation Program. The evacuation and relocation program provides support to families forced to leave their homes due to active combat in frontline areas or other threats. When evacuation or relocation is necessary, the Fund considers providing financial assistance to cover transportation costs to safer regions or cities where families can find temporary or permanent housing. This includes covering travel expenses and potential funding for settling in a new location, helping families quickly adapt to their new environment and meet their basic needs.

  • Medical Financial Assistance Program. The medical financial assistance program is designed to provide urgent medical support in critical situations. When a child requires immediate medical care, the Fund considers offering financial aid to cover treatment costs, medications, or necessary medical procedures that may be expensive or difficult for families to access.
The Fund actively collaborates with partner clinics that provide services at discounted rates or free of charge. Importantly, assistance is offered in cases where essential medical services are not covered by government healthcare programs. This helps reduce the financial burden on families and ensures children have uninterrupted access to quality treatment and rehabilitation. Thus, case management goes beyond financial assistance. It is a comprehensive support system that helps families recover, adapt to new realities, and regain stability in their daily lives.
