In collaboration with Children Rescue, over 50 family assistants of the Fund underwent the training “Preventing Sexual Exploitation and Abuse,” marking another important step in creating a safe environment for children.
The training was conducted by Anna Bohdanova, coordinator of the Children’s Justice Department at Children Rescue. Participants learned about potential threats, how to identify signs of sexual abuse and the mechanisms for timely response to critical situations. Additionally, they received practical tools for protecting children and providing psychological support to those who have experienced trauma.
Family assistants are an indispensable part of the support system for children and their caregivers, as they are the first point of contact for families under the Fund’s care. Their role goes beyond simple assistance — they support families in crises, offering both psychological and practical help. They respond quickly to needs ranging from medical requests to issues related to education and social services, helping families overcome difficulties and restore normalcy in their lives.
The professionalism of family assistants is key to providing effective and high-quality support. Regular training is not just a formality but a vital necessity. Through education, they acquire new knowledge, skills, and tools that enable them to better understand the needs of children who have experienced trauma.
