Polina is 5 years old. She’s a playful child who is fond of dancing and art. Her father was a retired police officer who worked for a security company. At the outbreak of war, he joined the territorial defense forces of Irpin near the capital city of Kyiv and died while on duty on March 5th, 2022.
To escape the Russian troops, Polina, her mother and her elderly grandmother walked 10 kilometers through the surrounding forests. Currently, Polina and her family have returned to Irpin and back to their home. They found their apartment in ruins, with all the windows broken and in need of replacement. Polina dreams of traveling far and wide, as she did with her father, and continues to enjoy dancing and drawing.
