Kyiv Regional Military Administration and Children of Heroes Charity Fund Partner to Support Children Who Lost Parents in the War

The Kyiv Regional Military Administration and the Children of Heroes Charity Fund have signed a memorandum of cooperation to provide comprehensive support for children who have lost one or both parents due to the war.

The memorandum will bring substantial benefits to the Kyiv Regional Military Administration by enhancing the efficiency of assistance to families who have lost parents due to the war. Through close collaboration with local veterans’ policy and social protection departments, the administration will receive timely information on families in need. The Fund’s family assistants, who maintain constant contact with beneficiaries, play a crucial role in this process, ensuring a swift response to the needs of affected children.

“We want every child under our care not to be defined by what the war has taken from them but to have the opportunity to grow and explore new paths for their future. We aim to help them regain self-confidence by providing support that empowers them to overcome challenges and move forward, building a life filled with dreams and accomplishments. Collaboration with government authorities enables us to expand opportunities for our beneficiaries and convey their needs to ensure comprehensive support and development for the children.,” said Hanna Khomenko, director of the Children of Heroes Charity Fund.

Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, highlighted that the work of the Fund’s family assistants, who maintain ongoing contact with families, will enable the Veterans Policy and Social Protection Department to provide more effective support. He also noted that Ukrainian children are growing up amidst war, spending parts of their childhood in shelters and facing early maturity. Yet, they continue to dream and find joy, underscoring our collective responsibility to support and protect these children.

Alongside material support, the cooperation will prioritize psychological assistance and social adaptation for children. This comprehensive approach aims not only to address their essential needs but also to foster personal growth and emotional resilience in children impacted by the war.

The partnership between the Kyiv Regional Military Administration and the Fund marks a crucial step toward restoring trust, providing support, and offering assistance to children who have lost their parents due to Russian aggression.
