Our comprehensive psychological support program provides 1-on-1 psychological support as well as educational webinars structured for:
- Grieving children who’ve lost one, or both parents as a result of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
- Parents or guardians of children that are under our care.
- Our employees and Family Helpers who work directly with the children and their families to provide personalized care.
Thanks to the generosity of our donors and partners, we can fund individual and group counseling sessions led by a team of trained psychologists who specialize in crisis management. This essential care by Ukrainians for Ukrainians provides:
Timely assistance and personalized care for the psychological wellbeing of a child and any surviving parent or guardian.
Support to families including coping strategies during periods of intense grief
A treatment plan that addresses unique circumstances
The psychological support team has been working at the Children of Heroes Charity Fund since it was established in Spring 2022. Psychologists have provided counseling sessions on a volunteer basis. All the specialists in our program have a background in psychology and psychotherapy and specialize in working with patients who have experienced serious trauma and loss. Each month, at least 50 families receive psychological support through Children of Heroes.
The current structure of our crisis psychological support is:
