On January 26, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) adopted a resolution dedicated to the children of Ukraine.
The resolution calls on foreign partners to join and provide “full support to competent Ukrainian authorities at all levels and non-profit organizations working with internally displaced children, those in need of institutional care, orphans, children of fallen soldiers and veterans, as well as those physically and psychologically affected by the war.” In addition to this, PACE highlights the need to ensure “full access to education and healthcare, including physical and psychological rehabilitation and reintegration.”
Children of Heroes Charity Fund joined the consultations with the working group headed by the PACE Vice President and reporter for the Committee on Social Affairs, Health and Sustainable Development Ms. Olena Khomenko. The Fund’s experts, Vladyslava Litiaga and Andrii Hadzhaman contributed to the drafting of the Resolution, emphasizing the importance of supporting the children who lost one or both parents during the full-scale invasion.
The Foundation continues to actively cooperate to protect the rights of Ukrainian children on international platforms and meet their needs.
As of today, the Fund is taking care of about 8,000 children, through comprehensive support programs that are designed to last until 2041.
